Humans of Bangladesh #4

She is only sixteen.

Isn’t it too early for her?

Isn’t it too heavy for her?

Monika, a 16 years old mother and her 4 Months old daughter Asamoni came to icddr,b as Asamoni was suffering from breathing problem. At this age where most of her friends are enjoying their school and playing with their friends, Monika is taking care of her 4 months old daughter. Early marriage and early pregnancy is still a main reason of mother and child death in Bangladesh. Her husband is a bus driver and they live in Mirpur.
