How I Work: Syed Shadab Mahbub

If you’ve ever wondered how Mad Koffee came about; alongside the two mad founders was a focused, witty and hardworking fellow we adoringly call “ShadAble”. Someday, we’d like to boast about being the first ones to get his interview when he’s a bigshot – bigger than Zuckerberg!

What apps/software/tools can’t you live without? Google drive.

What’s your workspace like? Messy most of the time, but keeping it clean is a must when I have to work for say, 4-5 hours on a stretch.

What’s your best time-saving trick? Always make a list of things to do for any given project, and assign that number to that project, like a mantra. Even if you forget the things you were supposed to get done, unless you reach that preassigned number, you know you are forgetting something.

What’s your favourite to-do list manager? A notepad and a pencil with an eraser on its end.

Besides your phone and computer, what gadget can’t you live without? My tablet. Its where I keep my songs, and its where I like to browse and read articles.

What everyday thing are you better at than anyone else? Understanding people rant about stuff.

What are you currently reading? A lot of articles related to webdevelopment, design and startup management.

What do you listen to while you work? Lana Del Ray is currently trending on the office desk.

Are you more of an introvert or an extrovert? An introvert.

What’s your sleep routine like? Go to bed early, and kick ass in the morning, around 7am.

Fill in the blank: I’d love to see Rashed Moslem answer these same questions.

ShadAble and his fellow colleague slightly “acting up”!

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received? Self realization is the most important thing in a person’s life. Advise from other people can only take you so far, but knowing the things that you like and dislike, and who you aspire to be, are things that stems from your understanding of yourself and the world you would like to live in. This advise was given to me by a certain A-level Physics teacher: Shabbir H. Khan; former teacher, boss and mentor-for-life.
